A Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo has recently met its end in Australia after suddenly bursting into flames, while participating in the Targa Wrest Rally.
If you were wondering why supercars haven’t spontaneously combusted this year, put an end to that thought, because another powerful vehicle has met its end because of this problem. The Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo in question has burst into flames for no obvious reason, while it was participating in the Targa Wrest Rally, in Australia.
“There was just a massive fireball out the back. The car is completely written off from the seats back. We’ve had the car on fire once before, at Mt Buller, which was a reasonable size fire. But that was a candle compared to this one”, said Jason White, who was driving this supercar at the time of the incident.
Racing driver Jason White, and his co-driver, managed to escape uninjured, which is more than we can say for this 150-unit limited supercar. The model in question will probably end up in the crusher because its whole rear end has been ruined by flames, and keep in mind that this is a rear mid-engined supercar.
