The Italian based automaker Lamborghini has recently announced that the SUV, which will be named the MLC, will be officially unveiled in April, at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.
After some rumors were announcing that Lamborghini is working on a spiritual successor to the LM002 of the ‘80s, the company’s officials came forward and said that nothing is true, but it seems that those officials have just changed their statements and the MLC, which will be the official name of the SUV, will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show in April. According to the guys at autoexpress.co.uk, the Lamborghini MLC will be made on the same platform as the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and the new Bentley SUV, and it will be the company’s second attempt to enter the SUV segment.
The Lamborghini MLC will come as a three-door SUV in its concept form and the full production version is expected to hit the market in 2015. The crossover will be front engined and it’s expected to be powered by the same engine as the Lamborghini Gallardo, the 5.2 liter V10 unit, which will generate almost 600 horsepower. The SUV concept will be firstly introduced in the Chinese market, at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show in April and when it will hit the market, in 2015 or 2016, the model will be priced at around 200,000 USD.
