The Italian based automaker Lamborghini has recently confirmed its plans to put the Urus SUV into production.
The announcement has been made by Harry Metcalfe, the editorial director of EVO, who was present at the Lamborghini anniversary gala where the one-off Egoista concept car was presented. Metcalfe said: “Lamborghini confirms Urus SUV for 2017 production at tonight’s Lambo50 gala dinner”.
As a quick reminder, the Lamborghini Urus SUV has been officially presented to the public, as a concept, back in 2012, during the Beijing Motor Show. The model was also brought to other important automotive events throughout the globe. The Lamborghini Urus SUV, in its final production version, is expected to ride on the same platform as the Bentley EXP 9 F production, the Volkswagen Touareg, the Porsche Cayenne or the Audi Q7, which will be made out of steel and it will help the crossover to weigh around 4,400 lbs (1,996). The Lamborghini Urus SUV is rumored to be powered by a 6.0 liter W12 engine borrowed from Bentley or by the smaller 4.0 liter V8. Prices for the model are expected to be set at 200,000 USD.
