Lamborghini has recently confirmed the production of the Urus SUV and the model should go on sale in 2017.
After it was officially presented to the public, back in 2012, during the Beijing Motor Show, as a concept, the Lamborghini Urus is ending up in our news once again, this time with an official statement, which is saying that the SUV has received the green light for production. The newcomer in the Lamborghini Range will be a luxury SUV which should compete with models like the new Range Rover or the Bentley SUV (even if Lamborghini and Bentley are owned by VW).
The final production version of the Lamborghini Urus SUV will ride on the MLB platform, which underpins the future generations of the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. The model will receive a lot of carbon fiber and aluminum in order to keep the weight down. Rumors are saying that the Urus SUV will receive a 4.0 liter V8 engine, mated to a couple of electric motors, which should produce a total of 650 BHP. The Lamborghini Urus is expected to hit the market in 2017, for a price of approximately 140,000 GBP.
