The British based automaker Land Rover has officially pulled the wraps off its newest creation, the so-called Defender Africa Edition.
Besides creating new generations of its models, the British based automaker Land Rover is also creating some special editions of the existing ones, like the one of this Defender, which has been called the Defender Africa Edition. According to the car manufacturer, the model in question has been inspired by Africa and it is currently celebrating the 67 years of travelling where no other vehicle has travelled before.
The recently unveiled Land Rover Defender Africa Edition will be offered only as the Defender 90 and the Defender 110 and it will be powered by the 2.2 liter four-cylinder diesel engine, the very familiar one, which will be connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. Land Rover says that the special edition of the Defender can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 15.8 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 145 km/h (90 mph).
The vehicle in question will only become available in Santorini black and it will be getting features such as the snorkel, the roof rack, the bumper caps, rear step, front protection, Bluetooth telephone connection, black alloy wheels, black seat covers with red piping and several other tweaks. Only 50 units of the Land Rover Defender Africa Edition will become available for order, worldwide. No pricing details have been announced yet.
