Land Rover has recently released the first details on the new top of the line Metropolis trim level for the outgoing Freelander.
The British based automaker Land Rover is about to pull the plug on the Freelander, because a new generation of the model will soon be introduced, but before this happens, the company is currently presenting a new top of the line version of the current model, which should be enough to keep customers interested in it. The new Land Rover Discovery Sport, Freelander’s replacement, is said to go on sale in 2015, being based on the Discovery Vision Concept.
The so-called Land Rover Freelander Metropolis is based on the HSE Lux trim level but it is adding some extra features such as the Windsor leather seats, the panoramic roof or the Meridian audio system. Besides these, the model in question is also coming with a touch screen satellite navigation system, with a rearview camera, with better carpets, a glossy black trim, some metallic exterior paint finish and 19-inch alloy wheels, amongst others. Power to the Land Rover Freelander Metropolis is being provided exclusively by the 2.2 liter SD4 turbo diesel engine, which is developing a total output of 188 HP (140 kW). The vehicle will go on sale soon.
