The British based automaker Land Rover is planning to develop a new smaller SUV which should make its way onto the market over the following years.
With JLR currently offering the brand new 2013 Range Rover on sale in several markets across the globe, and with the new generation of the 2014 Range Rover Sport being officially announced for the 2013 New York Auto Show, where it will be officially presented to the public on the 26th of March, the company is currently busy coming up with new models. One of those models will be a smaller SUV, fitted with Land Rover badges all over its body.
According to the guys at Autocar, the new Land Rover small SUV will be a direct competitor to the MINI Countryman and the entry-level version is expected to get a 2.0 liter engine under its hood made with Tata Motors and Chery. The new Land Rover small SUV is expected to be aimed towards emerging markets and it will be produced in India, but don’t act too surprised if you will end up seeing it on sale in Europe, in North America or in other parts of Asia. Additional details on the subject remain unknown for the moment.
