The Latin NCAP has recently awarded the Brazilian Volkswagen Up! with a maximum 5-star safety rating, after the small car has been crash tested in the latest session.
The Brazilian Volkswagen Up! has recently received a maximum five-star safety rating from the Latin NCAP. The safety specialists have rated the small urban cruiser during the latest crash test session and the ratings obtain represent the best combination of results granted by the Latin NCAP, after being approved in two crash tests, the frontal crash test, at 64 km/h, and the side crash test, at 50 km/h.
Volkswagen Brazil will be offering the Up! in five versions, the Take Up!, the Move Up!, the High Up!, the White Up! and the Black Up!, and power will be provide by a 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine, which will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission. An automatic option will become available on some versions. The engine is apparently compatible with flex-fuel (petrol + fuel). Prices for the Volkswagen Up! in Brazil will start at RS 26,000 and they will go up to RS 28,000. The model in question will become available for order in the South American country in February or March.
