Set to feature its official worldwide public debut next week during the New York International Auto Show, the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has already been leaked in official pictures.
The Trailhawk is set to make a comeback as of next week after first being featured as a limited edition Grand Cherokee Trailhawk back in September 2012 – the new version appears to have the same credentials. It comes to the party with a wide range of design tweaks following in the footsteps of the already presented Trailhawk versions of the Cherokee and Renegade. The same as these two models, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will sport a beefier suspension, larger tires, red tow hooks, black hood accents, and some modifications inside the cabin such as the red contrast stitching. All the modifications are rather restrained and only go some way towards making the Grand Cherokee look more capable when tackling the off-road conditions.
While nothing is official yet, the Trailhawk doesn’t seem to have responded to the fan query to pack the 707-hp supercharged HEMI 6.2-liter V8 from the Hellcats – though we do know a version with that powertrain is actually going to come out sooner or later. Jeep’s boss Mike Manley did confirm this variant is in the development stage and most likely it will adopt the “Trackhawk” moniker. With these official images already out in the open we reckon the brand won’t wait until the start of the New York Auto Show on March 23 to present – online – the model, so the unveil could be here anytime now.
