The Seat Leon, especially in its feistier evolutions that go up and down the Nurburgring Nordschleife, is a compact hatchback to be reckoned, so we’re naturally interested in its wellbeing.
Now here we have a leak coming from home in Spain revealing the 2016 Leon facelift completely undisguised. There were no need for clever concealing because we have major issues actually finding the changes. This is a Volkswagen subsidiary indeed – but even knowing that didn’t stop us from being shocked at seeing almost nothing is changed. This five-door hatch is sporting the prettier FR body kit and we reckon the introduction of the updated models should come pretty soon. The model will of course be present at the Paris Motor Show this autumn, with production expected to commence soon afterwards – for a late year showroom introduction.
Among the more easy to recognize changes we can see the Leon has borrowed the headlight design from the Ateca SUV – while the grille has also been subtly modified. We’re also not being tipped off about any new engines, meaning the usual rigs will be on point for the reminder of the Leon’s current generation lifespan. We also recently heard of the Cupra coming with a modified bumper as well, while blue is a shade that will get added in the process.
