As it turns out via this leaked grainy shot depicting the all-new Jeep Wrangler in the new, unreleased JL generation, almost everything looks the same as on the current JK version.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you – Jeep made sure the iconic Wrangler design stayed the same – by almost not changing it at all. At least this is what we’re getting from these grainy shots. The Wrangler is of course hotly anticipated and we’re pretty sure FCA is not very happy with this leak – but here it is, with subtle evolutionary styling and all. What we see here is the 2018 Wrangler in the Unlimited Rubicon specification and we can at least keep fans happy by telling them the removable roof isn’t going away. The images also reveal an interesting thing – there are entirely removable door panels, alongside a fixed roll cage and the iconic fold-down windshield.
The JL Wrangler Forums made the discovery of the shots and were also considerate enough to deliver some renders to better get a taste of what’s to come. We’re still some months shy from the actual official reveal – with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles chief Sergio Marchionne previously hinting the JL might arrive in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, with sales quickly coming online in January 2018. And yes, the Wrangler is still set to spawn a pickup truck version, sometime in 2019.
