We’re still some time way from the official worldwide live audience introduction of the all-new Megane RS hot hatch, but the wait until the Frankfurt Motor Show has just been eased.
That’s because the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has just released a host of patent images published, and among them we have the new performance model showcasing the exterior design from virtually all angles. As we already knew, the new Renault Sport model is coming in a tad more aggressive compared to the GT version – the exterior styling has the same cues from the teasers, with larger air vents in the front bumper, flared wheel arches and a large central trapezoidal exhaust tip in between the diffuser’s fins.
There are also new elements to discover once every bit of camouflage has come off – the headlights seem to have been updated with newer graphics and the same happened in the back, while the checkered flag motif of the LED fog lights just like on the Clio RS is thoroughly confirmed. The patent hasn’t revealed any technical details, but Renault did – the Megane RS will be available with manual gearbox and a dual-clutch auto, 4Control all-wheel steering and Sport or Cup chassis, depending on owner choice. In addition, it seems the GT version is also getting a nip and tuck at the front, making it more akin to the new RS and distancing it better form the normal range.
