According to a recent report coming from a dealer presentation, the RS triumvirate will get more oomph than the Porsche Panamera 4S from where they will source the engine.
A slideshow at a dealer presentation in Norway has allegedly been leaked and it contained information about three hotly anticipated RS models from Audi Sport – the RS4 Avant, RS5 Coupe, and RS5 Sportback. It was previously known the first two models would get the same new biturbo 2.9-liter TFSI V6 engine as featured in the Porsche Panamera 4S thanks to Stephan Reil, engineering chief of Audi’s Quattro GmbH division, who shared the news late last year. The surprise comes with the fact that for Audi the engine will be massaged for even more power and there’s also an RS5 Sportback in tow.
The regular Porsche Panamera 4S comes with 440 horsepower (324 kilowatts) and 406 pound-feet (550 Newton-meters) of torque – but it looks the new RS models will be given 450 hp (335 kW) and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm). That would be enough to get the Audi models with Porsche power to 62 mph (100 kph) in less than four seconds and go on until they reach an electronically-governed 155 mph (250 kph), if the slideshow is real. As always, Audi offers the option of a dynamic pack that brings a looser limiter capped at 174 mph (280 kph).
