The 2016 Ford Focus RS has recently leaked online ahead of its official unveil scheduled for today, revealing its whole design.
Ford has managed to keep the brand new Focus RS into the shadows for quite some time now but happily for us, the hot hatch has recently leaked out, ahead of its official unveil, which will be taking place later on today. The model pictured below is coming with a Liquid Blue paint job, similar to the one seen on the 2017 Ford GT, and it has received, of course, a new aerodynamic body kit.
The 2016 Ford Focus RS can easily differentiate itself from the standard model thanks to the rear wing, the larger air vents, the sport tuned suspension system which has lowered its ride height considerably, to its double spoke alloy wheels, to the two large exhaust pipes and several other features. The interior design is getting the Recaro seats as standard or optional bucket seats and several other goodies, which will put some distance between it and the regular Focus.
The most important part of the model is found under its hood, where the 2.3 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, from the Mustang EcoBoost, can be seen. The unit in question is believed to pack a total output of 250 HP (186 kW), but this could also be producing just over 300 HP, so this part is currently unknown. Rumor has it that AWD is present on the new Focus RS and that this system is delivering 70 percent of the power to the rear wheels. More details on the hot hatch are limited at this time.
