The first images with the upcoming Fiat Toro are showing us the model in question on the assembly line.
It’s been just a few days since Fiat has released the first official teaser image with the upcoming Toro and the model is being placed into the spotlights once again, no rx this time with the help of some leaked photos, which are showing us how this looks like exactly. The images have been taken at the Pernambuco facility, in Brazil, and they are revealing the attractive design of the crossover, which has a small grille, slender headlights, daytime running lights and it seems to be lacking the fog lights as it is believed to be an entry-level model.
The new Fiat Toro has been called an “SUP”, a sports utility pickup truck and rumor has it that it has been based on the Jeep Renegade. The vehicle in question is bringing metal-like underbody protection as well so this is obviously aimed towards emerging markets. Rumor has it that the model will be making use of a 1.8 liter petrol engine under its hood, rated at 138 HP, and it will also be offered with a 2.0 liter diesel, producing 170 HP. A manual transmission is expected to become available but the cheaper models will be getting 2WD. However, AWD will be available as well, but for an extra cost. Chances of this being launched outside South America are close to zero, but it remains to be seen whether or not we will catch an upgraded model on the Old Continent as well.
