As is customary with exotic brands, a few lucky affluent McLaren clients have had the chance to privately glimpse the new generation Super Series model – allegedly dubbed P14 – and lucky for us someone was really into sharing.
An alleged leak on Instagram is apparently another look at the undisguised McLaren P14 in spectacular Volcano Orange paint – with the official debut of the 650S successor actually tipped for the Geneva Motor Show in March. McLaren has already been touring the model at private events for pre-order allocations – and this is likely the venue of the snapped photo. While the setting is less than ideal for judging a new supercar, the 650S successor looks like a worthy P1-inspired model, an impressive upgrade of the McLaren styling.
With the P14 being just a codename for the supercar, the rumor mill is advancing 720S as the final moniker – so power should arrive from an all-new 4.0-liter version of McLaren’s biturbo V8, coming with exactly 710 horsepower (720 metric horsepower). The Super Series would then come to life with more new versions, including an upgraded hybrid as well as a convertible – and of course afterwards a huge roster of limited edition models as has been fashionable with McLaren until now.
