While the quality of these supposedly leaked official images is certainly lacking, these shots allegedly depict the refreshment work performed by the Japanese automaker on the Land Cruiser Prado flagship SUV.
As is the tradition with any serious facelift, the exterior’s biggest modifications have to do with the front-end area, where changes are easily noticeable in the form of completely reworked headlights, which get a nudge from the grille’s thick chrome framing that meets with the upper area of the lighting clusters. It seems for japan at least, the high-end look will be seconded by the switch to a full LED setup. As far as the grille is concerned, it becomes even busier with a more complicated pattern with more slats and even more chrome. There’s also a refreshed bumper with vertical fog lights instead of the previous model’s round units. The lower portion of the grille has also been updated and there could be more, subtler changes that can’t be seen here as well.
The rear doesn’t come up with as many changes, with different graphics for the taillights and a subtle rework of the bumper area. Moving inside, the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is getting a raft of updates – the most obvious one being a new 8-inch infotainment system and different HVAC controls. Naturally even more tweaks are to be expected – including a wider range of safety and assistance system – but we’ll get to know more in September, when the facelift allegedly debuts at home in Japan.
