While the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR looked like overkill when it was first tipped, the model did turn the fastest lap on the grueling Nurburgring in its category.
So, we’re not really surprised the sister company Jaguar has decided to take advantage of the moniker and offer a Jaguar F-Type SVR – which has now leaked on the web after the guys over at Autovisie have managed to grab a hold off a brochure detailing this new, hardcore version. Since we’re talking about an SVR here, the company has naturally titled it as the “ultimate sports car,” with the F-Type SVR now coming with bespoke modifications. We noticed a completely new front bumper with massive air intakes, a front splitter, a ventilated hood, as well as a bespoke rear wing that will automatically react to the car’s speed to retract or extend as needed. Other interesting tidbits we can highlight are the 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires or the sporty, titanium exhaust system. The cabin should feel at home for the user of a regular F-Type – the automaker added a sports steering wheel, some brush aluminum trim and quilted Performance seats with an Argyle-inspired pattern.
Most importantly for an SVR, the motivation comes under the hood in the form of the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine churning out 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This has been mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system for a 3.7 seconds sprint to 100 km/h and a maximum speed of 322 km/h (200 mph). The SVR is being kept in check by the high-performance braking system, an electronic rear differential, and the sport tuned suspension with controllable dampers.
