The South Korean sedan is turning into one of the worst kept secrets, but then again gone are the days when all we could see from a model before its official public unveiling was the logo on the invitation to the event itself.
Hyundai has been hard at work grilling the marketing team and thus revealed some teasers for the new Elantra, with design sketches depicting the exterior and even a rendering of the interior that revealed rather enough. The industry’s conclusion – we’re dealing with one South Korean with German DNA. The conclusion has been drawn from the styling bits and pieces we were presented until now and only becomes more powerful when looking at the leaked image. The pictures come courtesy of Auto Tribune, a Korean auto website and the small resolution image reveals enough form the front and side of the model. Naturally, what we have in front of our eyes is the local-spec Elantra, which on the KDM (Korean Domestic Market) will be referred to as the Avante AD.
From inside the brand the influences are naturally going towards the Genesis flagship, though the latter has been criticized heavily for its utterly sober shapes that, again, remind us of Germanic-styled models. From the interior rendering already revealed we already know the brand has opted for a clutter-free cabin, with the central console dominated less by buttons and knobs and more by displays. We believe the official worldwide unveiling is just around the corner for the model and even if we don’t see it mid-September during the IAA Frankfurt motor show we reckon the LA Auto Show won’t be missed.
