Even carefully planned automotive events can sometimes deliver pretty major flops: the Geneva Motor Show website has accidentally leaked a picture of the yet to be presented Renault Scenic.
OF course the image was hastily removed, but since screen grabs are forever we can still report on the picture that was downloaded by a number of different people. We can clearly see the Renault Scenic in all its glory and with a design carefully modeled after the latest styling cues presented by the R-Space concept. Up front we have the current Renault design language with the front end ticking all the boxes: slender winged grille, massive Renault logo, sculpted hood. The huge windshield is joined by a bespoke shoulder line – highlights appear to be the gloss black upper body, chrome accents, and funky two-tone alloy wheels.
We can see the Scenic is looking to go upscale and most likely the treatment will be fully implemented in the cabin as well where the MPV should have better quality materials and a modern design. There’s still no official word but we can bet the Scenic will also feature the new R-Link 2 infotainment system with an 8.7-inch display. The model is riding on the same CMF architecture as the Megane, with the engines and transmissions most likely carrying over. The wide array of gasoline and diesel engines span the 90 to 205 hp range.
