We know that one major selling point for the Lego kits is the fact that both kids and their parents can enjoy them – so we’re seeing this new addition to the new Speed Champions range as something for everyone young at heart.
The Lego Speed Champions family already included great automotive elements – such as the Ford GT, GT40, or McLaren P1 – and now the British manufacturer has also decided to include their newly presented 720S. This new kit will be up for grabs starting June, and besides the car you’ll also get a designer minifigure, as well as a design studio desk complete with coffee cup, an original design sketch, and a 3D-printed model car. “The LEGO interpretation of the McLaren 720S reflects the most exciting part of the design process, when a two-dimensional sketch is transformed into a physical, three-dimensional model,” said McLaren Automotive Chief Designer, Rob Melville.
Meanwhile, the real McLaren 720S should only be taken up by those with experience – presented in March at the Geneva Motor Show it comes with a V8 good for the name’s 720 horsepower and able to achieve a maximum speed of 212 miles per hour (341 kilometers per hour). It’s also going to be vastly more expensive at £208,600 at home in the UK compared to the Lego Speed Champions set cost of just £12.99.
