Leicester players awarded Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive for winning the Premier League image

If you’re a Premiere League regular you already know the shocking news, but if you’re not you’ll be pretty daft to find out the Leicester City soccer club – football if you live in Europe – has bested teams such as Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal or the well known Manchester United.

Yes, the Leicester City team is the winner of this year’s (their first ever) English Premier League, ahead of Tottenham, Arsenal, and Manchester City. And now in its own right a celebrity, the chairman of the club Thai businessman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has decided to be very generous. According to the British press all 30 players from the squad have received brand new Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive models – each of it carrying at least the OTR starting price of £32,670 – meaning Srivaddhanaprabha will sign checks for close to one million British pounds in total for the green gifts.

And that’s not all, since he promised the guys an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas, going well next to the £6.5 million pot split between the components of the team. If you’re like many of the folks not knowing anything about them we can tell you the club is an old one – founded back in 1884. It plays its current home games at the King Power Stadium which has seats for 32,626 persons. The club reentered the main roster of British football teams back in 2014 after sitting down in the minor league for about a decade. There’s one last match in the regular season to be played, but the team has ten points above Tottenham, the trailing rival.
