GM offered the creative advertising work for its all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado to the Leo Burnett Worldwide agency, based in Chicago.
It’s been several years since Leo Burnett has been responsible for GM’s Buick and GMC creative work, and now it has also been handed the all-new 2014 GMC Sierra pickup and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, two models which will be on the market in 2013.
GM chose Leo Burnett, because Chevrolet’s ad agency, Commonwealth, already handles more than 20 vehicle launches for the automaker in 2013 in the whole world, according to Pat Morrissey, director for GM product and brand communications.
“We believe having Leo Burnett work on both Silverado and Sierra will provide great synergies and result in creative campaigns that clearly differentiate the brands and engage truck customers,” Morrissey said in a statement. “Commonwealth is Chevrolet’s global creative agency of record and will continue to aggressively work on global campaigns.”
The Leo Burnett agency said it is thrilled to expand its business with GM and to take the responsibility for the very important Chevrolet Silverado brand. Commonwealth was selected in spring 2012, shortly after the company was formed as a JV between Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, an Omnicom Group company and McCann Erickson Worldwide.
