Fisker announced that actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who is an important investor in the company, will promote the Karma sedan as an eco-friendly vehicle.
“As an equity investor in Fisker Automotive, DiCaprio will participate in conversations on the auto manufacturer’s future plans for the advancement of sustainable, responsible vehicles,” said the company.
The actor will participate in marketing and promotional initiatives aimed at drawing attention to environmental and sustainability awareness. The company managed to raise $1 billion in private funds for its EVs, which will help the company get back on the track after dealing with battery-pack malfunctions, a delayed sales start, and the loss of $529 million in low-cost federal loans offered to produce cars in Delaware.
“My foundation supports efforts to secure a sustainable future for our planet and all its inhabitants,” says DiCaprio. “I am delighted to be working with Fisker Automotive to promote this shared vision.”
The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation was founded in 1998 by the famous actor and his family and is aimed at supporting efforts for a sustainable future for all the people and the entire planet. The foundation focuses on various environmental and humanitarian issues such as: Healthy Oceans, Water Access, Wildlife Protection, Disaster Relief, Forest Preservation and Climate Change.
