Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is planning to introduce a concept version of a new entry-level crossover which should be officially unveiled later on this year.
With an expanding global market and customers looking to buy more and more smaller crossovers, the Japanese based automaker Lexus can’t stay aside and watch competition “getting rich” so the company is planning to develop a new entry-level crossover which will be officially presented to the public later on this year. The model, whose name remains unknown for the moment, will be presented as a concept at the end of 2013, sometimes rod the Tokyo Auto Show.
The new Lexus entry-level crossover will be a global vehicle and it’s expected to be based on the 2013 Toyota RAV4. The carmaker has already trademarked the NX 200t and NX 300h names so this probably means that the future model will get a 2.0 liter turbocharged version and a 2.5 liter Atkinson-cycle variant. Additional details on the new Lexus entry-level crossover remain unknown for the moment and Toyota’s luxury brand will announce them during the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show, at the end of the year.
