Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is taking into consideration launching a new version of the GS sedan, which will go against the German automakers from BMW and Audi.
After the new generation of the Lexus GS has been launched in several markets already, the sedan is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time with a rumor which is saying that the model will rival BMW and Audi with a new version. According to the guys at autoblog.it, the new version will be named the GS250h and it will go against models like the BMW 520d and the Audi A6 2.0 TDI, in order to gain new customers who are looking for fuel efficient vehicles on the Old Continent.
The source mentioned above is saying that the Lexus GS250h will be an entry-level hybrid able to go against models like the Audi A6 2.0 TDI and BMW 520d. The new Lexus GS250h should be powered by a 2.5 liter V6 which will develop 209 horsepower, which will be “helped” on the way by an electric motor, in order to cut down on CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. Unfortunately we don’t have any more details on the new Lexus GS250h but if indeed this version will hit the market, it should offer more power than its German rivals and it should also be more fuel efficient and cheaper in order for Europeans to choose it.
