A production version of the Lexus LF-LC Concept will make its way onto the market eventually, as the model has just received the green light.
The announcement has been made by the company’s Marketing vice president, Brian Smith, who has spoken to wardsauto.com. Brian Smith says that the decision has already been taken by Toyota’s luxury brand thanks to a big demand coming from people interested in buying it.
“That was (intended as) a concept car, and I think it surprised everybody, including us, when Japan said due to overwhelming response they decided to do it. It’s a huge win”, said Brian Smith.
It’s unclear when the final production version of the Lexus LF-LC will be officially presented to the public or when the model will become available at dealerships across the globe. Besides this “mystery”, another one is saying that the production version of the goof looking sports car might ditch the hybrid setup of the concept in order to get a new powertrain. As a quick reminder, The Lexus LF-LC Concept is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine, which is helped on the way by two electric motors and a Ni-MH battery pack, producing a total output of 438 HP (444 PS / 327 kW). The model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 208 km/h.
