It may still be a few years away but hopefully it will maintain the appealing looks of the concept car.
Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is getting ready to roll off a production version of the LF-LC Concept, as spy photographers have managed to capture, for the very first time, a prototype of the car. The image posted above is showing us a camouflaged version of the upcoming sports car which has headlights similar to the above mentioned model. Rumor has it that the production variant of the vehicle will be based on the same chassis as the LS Sedan and it is expected to become a rival for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
The Lexus LF-LC will not become a reincarnation of the long-gone LFA supercar so if you were expecting this, you will be in for a big disappointment. Considering the fact that the Japanese based brand has recently begun testing the prototype, chances are the production version will be a couple of years away. Meanwhile, we will remind you that the concept has been shown back in 2012, during the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, and it had an amazing design, which you can check out in the photo gallery posted below. Under its hood, Lexus has made use of a 5.0 liter V8 engine, backed up by two electric motors taking their juice from the Ni-MH battery pack. The total output produced was 438 HP (327 kW), enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration made in 5.6 seconds.
