Lexus’ newest crossover, the NX, has received no less than 6,500 pre-orders in its home country, Japan.
Just a couple of days after announcing the official production start of the Lexus NX at the Miyata plant, in Japan, the car manufacturer is saying that no less than 6,500 pre-orders.
“Dealers understand its potential, and they’re asking us to give them as many as possible, as soon as possible… We believe the NX will sell well around the world, and that it will become a core model in the Lexus lineup”, said the Toyota Motor Kyushu president, Iwao Nihashi.
Lexus is already offering the NX in several markets across the United States and also in Europe. In the United Kingdom, the model has a base starting price of 29,495 GBP, in its cheapest version, the 300h S, while the 300h SE is costing 31,495 GBP. For the 300h Luxury, its future customers will have to pay 34,495 GBP and for the 300h F Sport, 36,995 GBP. The top of the line 300h Premiere has been priced from 42,995 GBP. The Lexus NX is the company’s first compact crossover and also the first model to come with a turbocharged engine, in the NX 200t, the 2.0L, with 235 HP (175 kW) and 349 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.
