Lexus plans new IS-F Coupe to rival BMW M3 image

Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is planning to develop a new IS-F Coupe which will be a direct rival for the new generation of the BMW M3 F80.

The Japanese based automaker Lexus is currently trying to keep the upcoming IS-F Coupe into the shadows but rumors are saying that the obvious choice for the new BMW M3 F80, or for the Audi RS5 or Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, is under development and it’s expected to hit the market soon. The new Lexus IS-F Coupe is rumored to be inspired by the stunning LF-CC Concept.

The upcoming Lexus IS-F will be similar to the LF-CC Concept car and the model will get the Spindle Grille and an aggressive front fascia. As for the engine lineup, anything is possible from four cylinders to eight cylinders in a V shape. Unfortunately we don’t have any more details on the upcoming IS-F for the moment but we will keep you updated on the subject.

As a quick reminder, the Lexus LF-CC was powered by a 2.5 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, helped by an electric motor and a high-performance battery. A generator and a power split device can relocate the power provided by either the gasoline unit, the electric motor and the generator and thanks to these innovations Lexus is saying that the LF-CC is emitting less than 100 g/km of CO2.
