Not long ago we told you about the Victoria Police in Australia who now roams the highways in its Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S Coupe which is being used as an operational highway patrol car.
Now the NSW police has also decided to add an interesting vehicle to its roster – this time around we’re talking about something a tad sportier: a Lexus RC in the flagship V8-powered F specification. The model will be used as a multi-purpose vehicle and will also be actively involved in roadside campaigns to promote road safety. This high-performance coupe has already been seen in public last weekend during the Bathurst Six Hour where it was used as a race control vehicle. It will also be shown at other sporting events and will represent the static display of the police at certain community engagement activities, including this year’s MS Sydney or the Gong Bike Ride.
When on actual police duties the car will be used by the NSW Police’s Southern Region and Lexus Australia chief executive Peter McGregor says the car would have a pivotal role in promoting safety on the roads. We imagine it will indeed be a looker in the police livery and displaying its soundtrack coming from the naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 467-hp engine. By the way, we’re now expecting the Dubai police force to up the ante in order to make sure that no other police force in the world has a more impressive display of cars.
