Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus has released the first official image with its new compact crossover, the NX, which will be making its public debut this month, during the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
The new Lexus NX crossover is the production version of the LF-NX concepts, which were shown last year. The model in question will become a direct rival for models like the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the Audi Q3 or the BMW X1, once it will become available for order this fall and it’s being placed into the spotlights, officially, with the help of its first teaser image.
The photo posted above is revealing the new lines, which have been softened for production, as well as the side mirrors and headlights which have been replaced with conventional units. Lexus is believed to offer two versions of the NX, a turbocharged, called the NX 200t, and a hybrid, the NX 300h. The first one will be using a 2.0 liter four-cylinder with D-4S direct injection. The Lexus NX will be riding on a modified version of the platform used on the Toyota RAV4 and FWD is believed to be offered as standard, with 4WD coming in as an option.
