Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is planning to launch the IS Coupe next year, when the model will hit several markets across the globe.
Originally previewed by the Lexus LF-CC Concept, the new IS Coupe is getting ready to assault the market. Its future customers will have to wait until 2014 in order to get their hands on the model. The engine lineup in the new Lexus IS Coupe will be made out of the same units found on the sedan, including the 2.5 liter V6 producing 204 HP (152 kW) or the 3.5 liter V6, with its 306 HP (228 kW). The model might also get a hybrid version, with a 2.5L four-cylinder and an electric motor, producing 220 HP (164 kW).
The Lexus IS Coupe hasn’t been officially confirmed by the Japanese based automaker but the company’s executives have already hinted a coupe which should change people’s perception on the brand and also to appeal to young buyers. Additional details on the Lexus IS Coupe are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to its launch. As a quick reminder, the LF-CC Concept, on which the IS Coupe will be based, has been officially presented to the public during the 2012 Paris Motor Show, back in September.
