Lexus said on Tuesday that will present a new concept car that will bow at the Detroit auto show in January.
It was designed by Calty, the company’s studio in Newport Beach, Calif. Lexus says the concept showcases the new design direction of the company.
A new concept coming at the Detroit show could preview an even bolder direction though, one we could see on models like the IS. In fact, the IS is where we are most likely to see styling risks taken.
All we can see in the teaser shot is the left side of the front end. It looks to have a little LFA in the design, as well as a bit of Scion FR-S. At any rate, it looks sporty and aggressive, two things Lexus hasn’t been known for until recently.
At least 36 new cars and trucks will be introduced at the show, scheduled to start Jan. 9, the newspaper said.
General Motors Co. tops the list with four new vehicles ready for public debut, including a new Cadillac ATS, which it will reveal Jan. 8, the newspaper said.
The Honda Motors Co. Acura luxury car line is set to display three new vehicles, including a successor to the NSX sports car.
No other details were revealed in the press release.
