Skoda has recently pulled the wraps off the new Octavia generation, ahead of its public debut which has been scheduled for the 2013 Detroit Motor Show in January.
After it was teased in five images and with the model leaking two times already, revealing its exterior and interior designs in both body styles, the new generation of the Skoda Octavia is being placed into the spotlights once more, this time with the Czech based automaker officially pulling the wraps off its body. The 2014 Skoda Octavia is coming with a prominent grille, with a sloping roof line with a distinctive rear door fin and with an expanded wheelbase by 108 mm. The new Octavia is now 90 mm longer and 45 mm wider than the outgoing model.
The 2014 Skoda Octavia has an attractive and functional interior with metallic trim, a three spoke steering wheel, an optional panorama glass roof and an updated infotainment system, amongst others. Options include Automatic Parking Assistant, Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent Light Assistant and more. Nine different engines are available for the new Octavia, including the 1.8 liter TSI with 179 HP (132 kW) or the 1.6 liter TDI GreenLine with 110 HP (81 kW), which is burning just 3.4 liters of fuel every 100 km (83.0 mpg UK / 69.1 mpg US) and it’s emitting 89 g/km of CO2. The 2014 Skoda Octavia will be officially presented to the public on the 14th of January, during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
