Fiat has announced a collaboration with fashion brand Gucci to mark the 90th anniversary of Gucci and the 150th anniversary of their common home, Italy.
The special edition Fiat 500 by Gucci, available in either white or black, is distinguished by the fashion house’s signature red and green stripe, Double-G logo on the wheel hubs and pattern on the leather seats.
The interior also features chic embroidery, exclusive materials, glossy and satin chromes, the velvety varnish on the “radioboard,” the two-toned seats in Frau leather with the Guccissima print.
“In the 50s the Fiat 500 created a style revolution when it first hit the road. It quickly become the must-have car of its time,” said Frida Giannini. “Travelling in style has also been at the heart of Gucci ever since Guccio Gucci founded his company as a producer of leather trunks, suitcases and handbags in 1921. So, when Lapo Elkann suggested the idea of this collaboration it struck me as a perfect opportunity to create a new modern travel statement in this Gucci’s 90th anniversary year.”
The 2012 Fiat 500 by Gucci will officially go on sale on April 1st, running until June 30th with pre-orders offered exclusively at www.500bygucci.com (the site is not yet available). These fashion minded Fiat 500s come with a starting price tag of 17,000 Euros ($23,387 US dollars)
