Lyons Motor Car has recently announced its plans to introduce a megacar, the LM2 Streamliner, at the 2015 New York Auto Show, next month, in a world premiere.
Koenigsegg is just about to lose its crown as the company producing the most powerful megacar in the world to a carmaker called Lyons Motor Car, which will be officially pulling the wraps off the so-called LM2 Streamliner, during the 2015 New York Auto Show, on the 1st of April. The announcement has been recently made by the new car company, which has also released several sketches with the brand new ride.
“Please join us at the 2015 New York International Auto Show for the Debut of the 1700 HP LM2 Streamliner. This is the first showing of the LM2 Streamliner to a public audience. Lyons Motor Car is also part of the NYIAS manufacturers press conference where we will make special announcements about future automotive and technological developments. The Streamliner’s are coming!”, said the automaker in its official press release.
The brand new Lyons Motor Car LM2 Streamliner will be using a V8 DOHC biturbo engine under its hood, which will be capable of producing a total output of 1,700 HP (1,250 kW) and an even more impressive peak torque of 2,180 Nm (1,610 lb-ft), connected to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. From 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h), the megacar will need 2.2 seconds and it could reach 100 mph (160 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. If basically a “no name” company founded in 2011 has managed to create this, we can only wonder what the successor of the Bugatti Veyron will be like or what will Koenigsegg prepare for us over the next couple of years.
