The UK’s largest motoring event, London Motor Expo opens its gates TODAY.
Organizers are expecting a record 425,000 visitors to view more than 250 cars on display – including a number of vehicles being shown for the first time in the UK.
Many of these cars are open for show-goers to sit in and, what’s more, lots of the performance and low-emissions cars can be driven by visitors too, both around the show site itself and out on East London’s public roads.
Among the new production cars making their UK motor show debut at Motorexpo will be Jaguar’s XF Sportbrake premium estate, which was first aired at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and the all-new BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe.
Other models aired for the first time at a UK motor show include the Mercedes-Benz A-Class compact car, Bentley Continental GT V8 coupe and Continental GTC V8 convertible, Lamborghini Aventador, Nissan Leaf, Tesla Roadster and many more.
Talking of four-wheel-drive, Land Rover will be bringing their heritage collection, including one of the first Land Rovers, just to remind everyone that they were building off-roaders when BMW were still making bubble-cars and an Audi was just a small saloon made by Auto Union – a kind of German Cortina.
Motorexpo is open daily at Canary Wharf from 10am to 6pm (Monday the 11th to Saturday the 16th of June) and 11am to 5pm on Sunday the 17th of June. Details on how to get there and information on the show is available at www.motorexpo.com.
