Lotus has recently announced its plans to introduce the Exige V6 Cup R to the 2013 Autosport International.
The newest model in the British based automaker’s lineup, the Lotus Exige V6 Cup R, is based on the Exige V6 Cup and this is a track aimed version of the model which is adding an aerodynamic body kit with a rear diffuser, with a front splitter, canards and more. The Lotus Exige V6 Cup will also get AP racing brakes, a sports exhaust system and adjustable dampers, amongst others.
The cabin of the model has been stripped and a roll cage has been added, along with a racing seat with six-point harness and a fire extinguisher. The most important part of the Lotus Exige V6 Cup R can be found under its hood, where a 3.5 liter supercharged V6 engine can be found. According to the car manufacturer, the unit is producing a total output of 366 HP (269 kW) and it has a peak torque of 413 Nm (295 lb-ft), mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The 1,040 kg vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 274 km/h (170 mph).
