The North American based automaker Chevrolet is planning to develop a low-cost Corvette which is expected to hit the market in 2015.
With the new generation of the Corvette Stingray already out, General Motors is thinking how it could increase its sales and the idea doesn’t sound bad at all. The car manufacturer is planning to produce a low-cost version of the Corvette, which won’t have a lot of things in common with the brand new Stingray. The announcement hasn’t been made public yet but rumors are currently saying that the upcoming low-cost Corvette is expected to hit the market in a couple of years.
The new low-cost Chevrolet Corvette is expected to be named the Corvette Coupe and this should be significantly cheaper than the outgoing Stingray. No details on what the model will look like or what engine it will get under its hood just yet and we might not hear anything more until the model will be ready for production. As a quick reminder, the new Corvette Stingray is using a 6.2 liter V8 engine under its hood, which is producing a total output of 450 HP and it has a peak torque of 450 lb-ft.
