Mahindra XUV500 SUV Named ‘The Most Reputed Car’ in India

In a recent survey led by Bluebytes News Private Ltd., Mahindra XUV500 was ranked as the ‘Most Reputed Car’ in India and Maruti Suzuki as the Most Reputed Car Company.

The survey was conducted by Bluebytes News Private Ltd., it took over 11,000 hours into the current lineup of cars in the market during the period October 2011 to March 2012. Mahindra and Mahindra’s XUV500 was in the first place, followed by Tata Nano as second most reputed car brand, but the former received a 74% lead over the second spot winner.

The Mahindra XUV 500 was launched in September last year, starting from the price of Rs.10.80 lakhs, as the first major utility vehicle launched from Mahindra after Xylo, being positioned between the Scorpio and other premium SUVs such as Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva and Mitsubishi Outlander. The model has been designed by the company’s R&D centre in Chennai, and produced at the company’s plant in Chakan near Pune.

XUV500 is powered by a 2.2 liter M-Hawk engine, which offers 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. The 2179cc mHawk engine helps this SUV challenge any terrain globally. There are two variants as far as transmission is concerned – XUV 500 two-wheel drive model and XUV 500 four-wheel drive model, according to the Indian automaker.
