Manual Ferrari 599 GTB sells at Amelia Island for almost $700k image

Almost 700, 000 USD, that’s the price a car collector had to pay for his newest ride, a Ferrari 599 GTB, finished in black and coming with a 6-speed manual transmission.

At the RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island 2015 auctions, cars worth over 60 million USD have been sold and one which we have to mention is this Ferrari 599 GTB. This is an extremely rare one as it has been fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission and this means that its newest owner had to pay no less than 682,000 USD, before being able to take his new ride home. Keep in mind that the pre-auction estimates were suggesting that this would sell for anywhere between 200,000 USD and 275,000 USD.

No less than 20 units of the Ferrari 599 GTB, equipped with a manual transmission, have been introduced to the United States, as the rest of them came with a semi-automatic paddle-shift gearbox. This particular example was finished in an appealing black shade and it has travelled for just 3,800 miles, being produced back in 2007. It has the red brake calipers too, carbon ceramic discs, 20-inch Challenge wheels, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, Bose sound system and so on.

The Ferrari 599 GTB has been put together between 2006 and 2012, when it was replaced by the F12 Berlinetta. The supercar came with a front mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout, being offered in a 2-door coupe body style. Power was provided by a 6.0 liter engine rated at 612 HP (456 kW) and 608 Nm (448 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 3.7s and a top speed of over 330 km/h (205 mph).
