Within the next two weeks LaNeve will take his new job at Team Detroit headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, and he will report to CEO Satish Korde at Team Detroit. The company named him the new COO for his expertise in luxury brand and global automotive marketing, as Ford plans to bring back its flagging Lincoln division.
“Much has been accomplished over the past year in restructuring and building our business; the time is right to bring in a new operational leader who will help take us to the next level,” said Korde.
LaNeve began his career at GM as brand manager for the Pontiac Bonneville, in 1997 he became Volvo’s vice president of marketing and later CEO of Volvo Cars of North America. In 2011 he returned as general manager of Cadillac and in 2004 he was named GM North America vice president of marketing and advertising. He left GM several months after the company declared bankruptcy in 2009 and took the position of chief marketing officer for Allstate Corp. in Northbrook.
