A new report is indicating that a production version of the Maserati Alfieri will be introduced in a couple of years.
The Maserati Alfieri is one attractive ride but at the moment it is a simple concept car. Things are about to change however as the Italian based automaker is planning on putting it into production, in the near future. According to the guys from Autocar, the Maserati Alfieri will be introduced in 2016, as a coupe, and it will be followed by a convertible, a year later.
“While we don’t expect it to be a big seller, we do expect it to anchor all values that are core to Maserati, and have a halo effect in drawing customers to us”, said James Cowad, the Maserati UK marketing director, referring to the Alfieri.
The final production version of the Maserati Alfieri will be coming as a rival for models such as the Porsche 911, the Jaguar F-Type or the Mercedes-AMG GT, and it will be based on an adapted version of the platform used on the Quattroporte and on the Ghibli. The cheapest variant will come with a 3.0 liter V6 turbo engine, with 410 HP (301 kW), while the range topping will come with 450 HP (331 kW) And 520 HP (382 kW), adding the AWD system. The convertible will get the same engine lineup. Prices will begin from approximately 75,000 euros.
