The Maserati Alfieri Concept will soon give birth to a production model which will be rivaling the Porsche 911 or the Jaguar F-Type.
We all remember the impressive looking Maserati Alfieri Concept and this is a good thing, considering the fact that the car manufacturer is planning on putting it into production. According to a recent report, the Alfieri will be hitting the assembly line in 2016 and it will be debuting in the same year. It will roll off as a coupe at first and one year later the convertible will be introduced too.
The final production variant of the Alfieri will be influenced by the concept car wearing the same name and it will be rivaling models such as the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar F-Type. This will be riding on a specially adapted platform used by the Ghibli and the Quattroporte, unlike the one-off version which used the platform of the GranTurismo. The cheapest model will be using a 3.0 liter V6 turbo engine, with 404 HP, while the AWD versions will come with the same unit, rated at 444 HP and 513 HP. The same units will be used on both the coupe and the convertible. No V8 option will be offered on the Alfieri as this will be kept for the next-gen GranTurismo.
