The Maserati Ghibli has been recently rendered by the guys at WCF and the image posted above is showing us what the model might actually look like when it will hit the market.
The Ghibli name has been trademarked earlier this year so the fact that it will be produced by Maserati isn’t a surprise anymore. The Italian based automaker is planning to expand its lineup and, after revealing the new generation of the Quattroporte, the company will also produce the Levante luxury SUV, along with the Ghibli, which is expected to be a direct rival for models like the BMW 5-Series, the Audi A6 or the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Rumors are saying that the company will develop the new Maserati Ghibli will ride on a modified version of the platform which is underpinning models like the Dodge Charger or the Chrysler 300. The Maserati Ghibli is also expected to be powered by a Pentastar turbocharged V6 engine, which should produce approximately 390 HP (291 kW), but a Ferrari sourced unit, a 3.8 liter turbocharged V6, with 490 HP (365 kW), might also make its way under the hood of the model. Additional details on the Maserati Ghibli are limited for the moment.
