The first rendering with the Maserati Ghibli MC Stradale have recently made their way onto the web and it might provide us with a first look into a new version of the model.
After it was officially unveiled last month during the 2013 Shanghai Auto Expo, in a world premiere, and then rendered in various shapes, the Maserati Ghibli MC Stradale is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a new rendering image, which is showing the model in a new version. Theophilus Chin has envisioned the Maserati Ghibli as an MC Stradale, a possible rival for models like the BMW M5, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG or the Audi RS6.
As a quick reminder, the Maserati Ghibli is the first ever model developed by the company to receive a diesel engine, and this has been co-developed with Paolo Martinelli, a former Ferrari chief motorist. The diesel Ghibli will get a 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 unit, which is good for 275 HP (202 kW) and 600 Nm of torque (443 lb-ft). The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.3 seconds in this configuration and it burns an average of 6.0 L of fuel every 100 km (47 mpg UK / 39.2 mpg US), while emitting 160 g/km of CO2. A 330HP 3.0L V6 is also available, along with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
