The very first image with a new body style of the Maserati Ghibli, the pickup, has recently hit the web and one thing is for sure, this will never hit the assembly line.
Maserati has introduced the brand new Ghibli just earlier this year as the model is now the cheapest vehicle with the trident badges on its body money can buy. But what if Maserati will decide to offer a pickup truck based on the Ghibli? If you haven’t thought about such a model until now, don’t worry, because chances are no one did, except for Theophilus Chin, the creator of the image posted above. Keep in mind that this is a simple rendering and Maserati will definitely not put it into production.
The Maserati Ghibli is the company’s first ever model to get a diesel engine under its hood, which is coming in the shape of a 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 unit, producing a total output of 275 HP (202 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. Besides the diesel burner, Maserati is also offering a 3.0 liter V6 twin turbo unit, in two outputs, with 330 HP (243 kW) and 600 Nm of torque and 410 HP (301 kW) and 550 Nm of torque.
