Ghibli, the little brother of Quattroporte will start at 64,980 Euro when will the market later in the summer.
Ghibli, the first diesel in Maserati’s history will get a 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged unit, co-developed with Paolo Martinelli, a former Ferrari chief motorist. The engine will produce 275 HP (202 kW) and 600 Nm of torque (443 lb-ft), enough for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 6.3 seconds, an average fuel consumption of 6.0L/100km (47 mpg UK / 39.2 mpg US) and 160 g/km of CO2 emissions.
If that’s not fast enough, the Ghibli S will be powered be an engine producing 404 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. That helps lower the 0-62 mile per hour time to just 5.0 flat. The model is also getting a 3.0L V6 twin turbo gasoline engine, with 330 HP (243 kW) and 500 Nm of torque (369 lb-ft), which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Fuel consumption stands at 9.6L/100km (29.4 mpg UK / 24.5 mpg US).
Standard equipment includes premium leather interior bi-xenon headlights, 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, tire pressure monitoring system and a dual-zone automatic climate control.
By the end of 2015, Maserati plans to sell 50,000 vehicles worldwide. Last year, the luxury carmaker sold only 6,300 vehicles globally.
