The Italian based automaker Maserati has recently released a teaser image with the Ghibli, which will make its public debut during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, later on this month.
After it was spied a few times over these past months, the Maserati Ghibli is being placed into the spotlights for the first time, in an official way, with the help of a teaser image, which is announcing the model’s official presentation during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, later on this month. The picture above isn’t showing anything in terms of design because the Ghibli is all covered up, so we will have to wait for the Chinese automotive event in order to find out more on the model.
Initial rumors were saying that the engine options in the Maserati Ghibli might include the 3.0 liter twin-turbo with 385 HP (287 kW), the 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 with 480 HP (358 kW) and a 3.0 liter diesel, “borrowed” from VM Motori. The units will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission which will send power to the optional all-wheel drive system. The Maserati Ghibli will rival models like the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class or the Audi A6. A total of 50,000 units annually are expected to be sold by 2015.
